Student Wellbeing - Student Wellbeing

At Nazareth School, we are concerned with the dignity and integral growth of each person. It is our aim to educate students with respect and love.

In a community that provides a strong sense of well being, belonging and security, students are given every opportunity to be affirmed in their dignity and worth, confirmed in their individuality, and assisted to grow to the fullness of their potential. We are committed to ensuring a safe and caring environment, which promotes personal growth and positive self-esteem for all.

At Nazareth school we promote a healthy, supportive and secure environment in which all teachers assume responsibility for student wellbeing.  We endeavour to implement and maintain Social and Emotional Wellbeing programs such as:

  • Positive Education Framework
  • Building Learning Communities
  • Restorative Practice
  • Circle Time / Class Meetings
  • Student Leadership
  • Student of the Week Awards
  • Orientation to school (for new Preps)
  • Buddy Program (Preps and Year 5 students)
  • Seasons for Growth - a program which provides support for children experiencing loss - whether through death or separation.
  • Transition to Secondary School (for Year 6)

Our Student Wellbeing leader works with the staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the best possible experiences at school for students. At times students are referred to outside agencies and services.

At Nazareth School :

  • We believe that everyone has the right to learn
  • We believe that everyone has the right to be heard
